If you are unable to attend the surgery because your illness or disability confines you to your home, it may be possible for your doctor to visit you at home. The doctor’s will only visit patients who are truly housebound in need of medical attention. Due to the increasing pressures on a GP’s time we are unable to visit for social or transport reasons or for convenience. If transport is preventing you from attending the surgery we will ask you to use public transport, a taxi service or a volunteer transport service (details below).
Home visits take place between morning and afternoon surgery at 12.30pm-2.00pm. The doctor may call you first to conduct an initial assessment and ensure the appropriate Clinician attends.
To request a home visit call the Medical Centre as early as possible, after 8.00am. It is important we are contacted as early as possible to allow the doctor to appropriately and efficiently respond to your request. Due to GP capacity being booked we may be unable to visit for requests made later in the day. Please give the reception team as much information as possible
